LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Summarize the etiology of chronic wounds and extrinsic factors that contribute to and affect wound healing outcomes
  • Explain the phases of wound healing and the associated microenvironment, cellular components and their functions in wound healing
  • Describe specific diagnostic tests, examination tests, lab tests, and measures related to wound assessment and management and the components of documentation
  • Identify methods for recognizing soft tissue and bone infections, bioburden management, and treatment of local and systemic infections
  • Outline specific treatment interventions for chronic wounds including nutritional management, debridement, topical therapies, and biophysical agents

This on-demand webcast is available with synchronized slides and video. To be eligible for credit, participants must complete the online activity, complete the 30-question post-test with a minimum score of 70% and the evaluation. Upon completing the activity, there will be instructions on how to print a certificate or other documentation of credit.

The certificate is not the official record of your participation in the activity. The official record of credit will be the information in CPE Monitor system. The deadline to claim credit is 60 DAYS AFTER ACTIVITY. Following ACPE Policy, HMP Education will not be able to report your claimed credit to CPE Monitor after this 60-day period. Eligibility for pharmacy credit is contingent upon the successful completion of a post-test and/or evaluation for each activity or session attended.

Alabama: Will honor any coursework relevant to the practice of Physical Therapy.

Florida: This activity has been approved by the Florida Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. The maximum allowable hours for this program are 17. Accreditation of this course does not necessarily imply the FPTA supports the views of the presenter or the sponsors

Hawaii: The Board will accept continued competence courses in subjects related to either the professional practice of physical therapy or patient/client management from courses approved by another state or jurisdiction's physical therapy board or its equivalent.

Nevada: This activity has been approved by the Nevada Physical Therapy Board for 17 hours; expiration: July 31, 2024.

North Carolina:  This activity is approved by the NCBPTE by virtue of approval by HMP Education for a maximum of 17 hours. 

North Dakota: All competence activities related to physical therapy sponsored by the APTA, State PT Associations, Medical/Educational institutions or certified by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT) are automatically approved as "certified activities".

Texas: This activity has been approved by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners for 17 CCUs for PTs and PTAs. Approval: 77027TX; Expiration: 01/28/25

Washington D.C.: WCPC has been pre-approved by the state of Washington DC. Attendees must submit this certificate and any other material into your designated state board in order to receive full approval.
