This activity is designed for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, podiatrists, and other members of the interprofessional wound care team involved in the prevention, treatment, and management of patients with wounds.
After participating in this activity, learners should be better able to:
- Describe the importance of a multidisciplinary team
- Identify factors impacting the person with diabetes and a foot ulcer
- Discuss the important components of a patient history as it relates to wound care evaluation
- Examine pharmacy and poly pharmacy as it may impact wound healing
- Discuss various medical comorbidities and their impact on wound healing
