This activity is designed for long-term care clinicians, including medical directors, physicans, NPs, PAs, pharmacists and psychiatrists, as well as other health professionals caring for older adults.
After participating in this activity, learners should be better able to:
- Summarize the prevalence of TD in long-term care residents taking antipsychotic medication and its impact on quality of life
- Appropriately administer AIMS screening and interpret patients’ results to evaluate TD symptoms and assess treatment response
- Evaluate clinical trial data of novel VMAT-2 inhibitors and current guideline recommendations to develop strategies for managing TD
- Implement strategies to ensure integration and multidisciplinary TD care coordination in long-term care, including appropriate dosage of VMAT-2 inhibitors
To be eligible for credit, participants must complete the educational activity, complete the 6-question post-test with a minimum score of 70%, and complete the activity evaluation form. Upon completing the activity, there will be instructions on how to complete the evaluation and print a certificate or other documentation of credit.
