INTENDED LEARNERS
This initiative is intended for clinicians who encounter and care for patients who have or are at risk of developing PAD, including primary care physicians, NPs, PAs, interventional cardiologists, interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, wound care specialists, podiatrists, endocrinologists, nephrologists, diabetologists, pharmacists, nurses, cath lab technicians, and vascular technologists.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After participating in this activity, learners should be better able to:

Identify risk factors for PAD that should prompt clinical investigation

Describe recommended assessment and testing strategies for the diagnosis of PAD

Review the mechanisms of action of antiplatelet and anticoagulation medications approved for the treatment of PAD

Summarize the latest antithrombotic therapy clinical trial data

Balance the benefit of reduction of ischemic events versus increased risk of bleeding events when individualizing antithrombotic therapy for the treatment of PAD

Employ patient-centered care strategies to reduce the risk of MACE and MALE in patients with PAD

Assess the most current PAD guidelines for relevant clinical disciplines

Evaluate patient pathways by specialty

To be eligible for credit, participants must complete the educational activity, complete the pre-test and complete the evaluation form. Upon completing the activity, there will be instructions on how to complete the evaluation and print a certificate or other documentation of credit.
