There is consensus in the wound care community that nutritional supplementation is important to wound healing. There is growing evidence that supports the belief that nutritional supplements are effective in promoting wound closure. More and more providers are seeing the value of not just a generic diet but providing a prescription for nutrition with certain foods, diet plans, menus, and nutritional supplements. Current thoughts on providing not just supplements but Whole Diet prescriptions is gaining traction in wound care. In this session, learn more about oral and parenteral nutrition supplementation as well as new terms and concepts, such as “food insecurity” and “Curative Nutrition Dosing.”
