Session 12: Skin Failure: Reality or Myth?

    Skin Failure: Reality or Myth?

    Moderator/Speaker: Jeffrey Levine, MD
    Speaker: Barbara Delmore, RN, PhD
Clinicians are familiar with organ failure, such as heart failure, kidney failure, etc., but there is still not an accepted diagnosis for the failure of the largest body organ, the skin. Skin failure has been described as death of the skin and underlying tissues due to hypoperfusion. This session will review skin failure, potential clinical criteria, and treatment strategies.
