ABSTRACT

Many wounds are complicated by local swelling. Recognizing systemic factors that may contribute to swelling will help the practitioner assess and manage this common pathology that can impact healing. This session will discuss the pathophysiology of edema and lymphedema. In addition, the session will offer practical tips regarding the assessment and management of swelling.
