Establishing a PCMH in an Inner City Pediatric Resident Clinic

ABSTRACT

Although a PCMH is ideal for an inner-city population, offices often find it difficult to implement and maintain a PCMH when the majority of the providers are residents in their training program. However, to educate the next generations of providers to deliver excellent primary care well into the future, the health care systems need more successful PCMH practices in which to train residents. This session will detail many of the steps necessary to develop and maintain a successful PCMH home in an academic, pediatric, inner-city office with almost 50 residents and 15 faculty.
