Intended Learners
This activity is designed for healthcare professionals, including social workers, nurses, and neurologists, who provide care to patients with Huntington’s disease.
Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
- Core features of Huntington disease with an up-to-date understanding of the diagnosis, staging, and typical symptoms of HD, as well as approaches to treatment;
- Ethical dilemmas in genetic testing and current options in reproductive technologies for HD patients and families;
- Strategies for behavioral, psychiatric/cognitive, and neurological management of the disease, as well as symptom identification and care options;
- Translation of complex clinical information to patients and family, the development of therapeutic relationships, and possess an understanding of available support resources;
- And the role of ancillary services such as rehabilitation therapies, genetics, psychology, and social services, in the management of HD
Activity Overview
CME4HD will occur on Saturday November 4, 2017 at the Hyatt Regency Denver Colorado Conference Center, Denver, Colorado. A question-and-answer session with the faculty will follow each presentation.
Instructions for Receiving Documentation of Credit
To be eligible for documentation of credit, participants must complete the online evaluation form at www.naccme.com. All individuals who participate in the conference and submit the completed evaluation form online may immediately print their documentation of credit.
