Diagnosis and treatment of both acute and chronic osteomyelitis presents a significant challenge to both patients and caregivers. In spite of recent advances, cure rates for chronic osteomyelitis remains at around 50%. Using case presentations that outline protocols leading to improved clinical outcomes, this session will elucidate the latest evidence regarding diagnostic
procedures, antibiotic therapy (medical management) and surgical options.
