With advances in wound management, clinicians are presented with a broad array of technological interventions that can facilitate healing. At the end of the day, however, the question usually comes down to how to cover, protect, and nourish the exposed wound. Selecting the wrong dressing can often negate the positive effects of the treatment regimen. This session will provide an overview of current dressing options from a product component and indications perspective. Dressing selection strategies that consider stage of healing, levels of exudate, local wound infection, wound pain, and wound and periwound fragility will be considered.
