    Learning Objectives

    After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

    • Assess a patient's caloric, protein, and fluid needs and describe the role of each nutrient in healing
    • Explain the rationale for supplemental amino acid therapy to aid wound healing
    • Distinguish between sarcopenia, sarcopenic obesity, starvation, and cachexia
