INTENDED LEARNERS

This activity is designed for physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and podiatrists across all practice settings involved in the prevention, treatment, and management of patients with wounds.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After participating in this activity, learners should be better able to:

  • Examine best practices for skin and wound management and incorporating compression therapy as the gold standard of VLU care 
  • Review strategies that includes skin protection, managing bioburden, optimizing the wound environment and off-loading for DFUs
  • Examine strategies to prevent and treat pressure injuries using best practices for assessment, education, prevention and treatment protocols
