Digging Deeper: Substance Use Disorder Screening in Primary Care – What to Know and When to Screen

Approximately 20 million Americans have substance use disorder (SUD), a number that has jumped since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this prevalence, patients can be hesitant to share their experiences or speak truthfully about their disease, leading to only 10% of individuals receiving treatment. This session will outline the sensitive questions about SUD that need to be asked by PCPs.
